 Pop singing sensation Sarah Geronimo enjoyed a dose of videoke fun with friends from media and her Jollibee family recently at the Red Box Karaoke in Eastwood City. She, and the rest of the group, had a whole lot of fun playing games and singing the night away; enjoying the two delicious flavors of Jollibee’s crispy fries – the yummy four-cheese and tasty sour cream – that were served as merienda cena fare. “Eating becomes even better when you share it with someone,” enthused the accomplished songstress. 

The early evening barkada-themed gimmick/event, hosted by Myx VJ Megan Young, was made even more special as Sarah performed her signature hits. A slightly strange bummer happened when the videoke music and lyrics to Sarah’s chosen songs were not in sync. In Sarah’s own words, there was “a couple of seconds delay.” So she dished out her repertoire with a minus-one accompaniment instead. “For a while, I lost my head tone due to a node that was scraped from my throat. But that’s all healed now. To help maintain its condition, I do vocal warm-ups regularly and say no to chocolates,” shared tinseltown’s most-loved nightingale. 

Two of the mellow songs she crooned were from her movies with John Lloyd Cruz: You Changed My Life and Very Special Love; the latter song she shared with ABS-CBN’s anchorman Mario Dumaual who gamely sang the movie soundtrack with her. The two other fast numbers were "Love Will Keep Us Together" and Katy Perry’s "Fireworks."

 “Michael Jackson is my strongest influence. I also dream to make it internationally and bring pride to the country like Ms. Lea Salonga and Charice Pempengco. Maybe not soon but in the near future,” shared Sarah, who also told us that Gospel music are what fills her Ipod.
