Honda Philippines unveiled its latest motorcycle, the Click125i, at the Trinoma activity center very recently. The weekend event gathered bike enthusiasts from all over the metro as rock band Spongecola regaled mall-goers who watched the exhibit.

The label’s scooter innovation follows through with the unique concept of its Zoomer X design platform. Click 125i’s new generation intelligent 125cc global engines, with cutting edge features, are developed simultaneously with other Honda-dominated territories like Thailand and Indonesia.

“The Click125i is our answer to customers who are looking for environment-friendly super sports scooter with superior specifications, top-notch features, and a futuristic design,” shared Elie Salamangkit Jr., Honda Philippines’ new model & accessory development manager.

The new scooter presents an aggressive and sporty design with a sleek and innovative look based on the image of the new engine featuring cutting-edge technology; offering an exhilarating ride while projecting a slim & sharp futuristic image. The Honda ACG starts were exclusively developed for comfortable frequent operation of its idling stop system (ISS). The engine is started via the same AC generator used to generate electricity that charges batteries while riding. This eliminates the need for a conventional starter motor thereby eliminating reduction gears and gear-meshing noises resulting in smooth, quiet starts.

The ISS is one of the reasons for its fuel efficiency. Compared to other conventional motor engines that continually consumes fuel once engines are started, this feature eliminates wasteful fuel consumption by automatically switching the engine off after 3 seconds in traffic lights and other brief stops, and resumes with just a twist of the throttle to start up and go in less than a second!

With a 4-stroke, dual SDHC-valve, liquid-cooled engine type, the Click 125i can display a maximum power of 8.4 kilowatts at 8,500 revolutions per minute (RPM), as well as a maximum torque of 11.16 n.m. at 6,500 RPM. Fired with a TSP engine, it starts with an AC generator via a full-transistorized ignition system. Filled to the brim with 5.5 liters of fuel, the scooter runs as far as 64.3 kilometers on a liter of fuel when driven at 50 km/h; or as far as 50kms per fuel liter if run on a much faster speed.

PGM-FI, a fuel injection technology pioneered by Honda since the introduction of its CXTurbo in 1982, the first fuel-injected motorcycle in the world, is also used in this model. However, the innovation is not focused on its fuel injection alone. Every aspect that was developed in the Click125i is Honda’s effort in providing products that deliver better benefits exceeding customer expectations.

Rolling on tubeless cast wheels, it has a telescopic front suspension and a unit-swing rear suspension. The scooter’s combination brake system, on the other hand, employs a hydraulic disc brake up front and a mechanical leading trailing at the back.

“Click 125i has a longer wheel base, has the largest fuel tank, is equipped with a better air cleaner location for better maintenance and a press on its left brake distributes the squeeze front and back equally,” Elie continued.

Honda’s enhanced smart power (eSP) is an advance engine technology that combines high power and high fuel efficiency with a quiet start and smooth eco-friendly engine technology that’s able to maximize the efficient combustion while minimizing friction to reduce the risk of fuel wastage, and optimize energy usage. The eSP technology is integrated with Honda’s unique ACG starter that’s able to rev the engine jolt-free and with a more refined sound, in preparation for the application of its advanced idling stop system.  Moreover, the scooter is bolstered with the advent of its combi-brake system which balances braking of the rear wheels with the front tires.

Most importantly, the new Click 125i eSP also features dependable safety and security features like the standard automatic side stand where the engine would not start up when in down position, and a brake lock easily operated to prevent the motor jump when started or remaining in idle state when stopped on a gradient. Bigger tubeless tires for better traction and more secured feeling and comfort is a big plus when compared to other brands. Another excellent feature is the ever-reliable magnetic key shutter which effectively prevents theft, and its push-button seat opener. It also has the largest luggage capacity in its class at 18 liters that is capable of storing a full-face helmet.

“The Click 125i will aid beginners well but the scooter is pitted for those looking for higher specifications. It will definitely give excitement to full-pledged scooter users. It is covered by a one-year warranty but if bought in selected 3S shops, the warranty might reach up to three years,” Elie said in closing.

The look of this futuristic super sport scooter is complemented by its trendsetter LCD meter panel and class-leading dual keen eyed LED headlight that projects a commanding night-face image. The LED light provides a better advantage for the rider through 80 per cent higher light intensity, and an equally 80 per cent efficient power consumption; providing for a longer lighting life.
