Looking forward to an Independence Day long weekend barkada hangout with a gimlet cocktail? Or would you like to try James Bond's stirred, not shaken, martini? If gin is your drink of choice, then you have reason to rejoice as GSM Premium Gin celebrates Gin Month at Edsa Shangri-La's pool bar happy hour from 5 in the afternoon 'til 8 in the evening all days of June.
With the Philippines being the world's largest consumer of gin, or nearly half of the distilled spirit's global sales, it is no wonder that the country is leading World Gin Day in this part of the globe.
Held every second saturday of June, World Gin Day was the brainchild of British blogger and gin-thusiast Neil Houston. What started as a regular gathering of gin-loving friends back in 2009 has grown into a worldwide celebration with another gin-thusiast Emma Stokes, aka The Gin Monkey, continuing this tradition of celebrating the juniper-based spirit.
Today, World Gin Day is celebrated in over 30 countries, reaching 50 million people from around the world.. This 2017, World Gin Day was celebrated yesterday, June 10th.
GSM Premium Gin partnered with EDSA Shangri-La to bring gin-lovers together, not just for a day, but for an entire month. June 1st saw World Gin Day 2017 at the poolside of the Edsa Shangri-La. Celebrities like Bb. Philippines World 2007 Maggie Wilson Consunji, model-actor Will Devaughn, blogger Cecile Zamora van Straten (aka Chuvaness), team coach Tim Cone, and cager Greg Slaughter were some of the honored guests.
GSM Premium Gin has been a Monde Gold awardee since 2013 because of its high quality and taste, and is being exported to the US, Dubai, and the rest of Asia.
