UP Singing Ambassadors

 Singing chorale receives distinction

By Ed Ciby

As one of the very few choral groups to have attained 'cream of the crop' status, the UP Singing Ambassadors has consistently brought accolades and prestige to the co$untry by winning both local and international competitions.

The group’s musical prowess could only be matched by its philantropic pursuits and unceasing generosity.

Troughout it's 37-year history, the UPSA has consistently brought honor and renown to the country. The group has won in almost all of the European choral competitions, and is one of only four Filipino choirs (with The Madz, Aleron, and the UST Singers) to have qualified in joining the European Grand Prix for choral singing.

Performing classical pieces to the most modern music genres, UPSA also showcases ethnic and folkloric dances and costumes. Despite it's international prominence, the choir finds fulfillment in sharing its music to the less priileged who are constant recipients of their benevolence and generosity.

Through its outreach program, the choral group does interactive workshop and clinics around the archipelago, as well as overseas, and has produced winners like the Loboc Children's Choir (who won in Barcelona, Spain) and the Silvestre Papa Choir of Sora, Italy (who won in Arezzo, Italy).
