60th Miss International edition

Miss International to push through with 2022 pageant

By Earl D.C. Bracamonte

The global pandemic has truly affected the schedules of international pageants. And the most notably disrupted is the Miss International show, as they had to cancel their 2020 and 2021 editions.

It was announced last year that their pageant will take place this fall, but I guess that schedule will be moved towards the end of the year.

Miss International spokesperson Stephen Diaz, through his Twitter account @diazstephen, wrote, "Very limited slots for the #60thMissInternational if it's held in Japan this December. In the meantime, I am still negotiating with other countries who are bidding to host this year's edition. It is better to have Plan B and Plan C. Miss International must be held this year, no matter what."

To date, the organization announced that they have 46 confirmed delegates, including our national winner Hannah Arnold. The same announcement also intimated that there are a few slots available (should other countries want to field a representative).

The winner of the 60th Miss International pageant will be crowned by outgoing queen Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand, who had been wearing the crown since 2019 - making her the longest reigning holder of the title.

Whether the pageant pushes through in Japan at the end of the year, or elsewhere should a bidding country be chosen to host, Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold has been readying herself for the final show. Stay tuned!
