Young teacher wins post-pandemic tilt

Mia C. Romero bested nine other aspirants and emerged as the first Miss Bais to be crowned after the global pandemic hit in early 2020. The young educator dedicated her win to her father and elder brother who both passed on a few months before the competition. A crowd favorite, she said, she didn't expect to win the title, being a relative newcomer in the local pageant scene.

Ellyn Bernaldez was named Miss Bais Tourism 2022 while Kathryn Nicole Ganon was proclaimed Miss Bais Tapasayaw 2022. Completing the royal court were Michelle Kate Reyes and Nathalie Angel Abrasaldo Gimony, runners-up in descending order.

Hosted by Sophia Garson and Kim Algarme, the pageant was the highlight of the city's 54th charter anniversary celebration. This year's pageant chair was Rene Llera, under the directorate of Dr. Harte Fuentes.

This year's selection committee was comprised of Miss Bais City 2007 Vanessa S. Carty, Cebu-based fashion designer Axel Que, MUPh 2022 Top 32 delegate Marilit K. Iligan, model Eric Leonard Visser, and Philippine Star's pageant analyst Earl D.C. Bracamonte.

Mia and her court each received varying amounts of cash prizes, as well as insurance packages from corporate sponsors. She was crowned by outgoing queen Leizerl R. Jesuro.
