Beatrice McLelland

Philippines aims to win 2nd Miss Eco Teen Int'l crown

The ALV Pageant Circle organization sent off Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2022 Beatrice "Bea" McLelland through a no-frills ceremony at the ballroom of Luxent Hotel recently. The mid-afternoon event was graced by the reigning Miss World Philippines 2022 court, her team, family, friends, and members of the pageant media.

The Aklan beauty queen flew to Egypt, with her mom and members of her team last December 2. "Let's all be supportive of her journey. As queens, we stand for chasing our dreams. Being a beauty queen is also in line with our values and advocacies; especially on programs for women and the environment. It's your message to the world and the youth that really matters. We are rooting for you. You have the experience and the grit.

"Bea is so down to earth. She's our 'kalog' queen. Hope you'll shine in the international stage," well-wished Miss Supranational Philippines 2022 Allison Black, who stood for ALV Pageant Circle national director Arnold L. Vegafria, who had a prior engagement.

The 20-year-old McLelland will try her luck in this pageant that espouses environmental concerns. It is the teen version of the Miss Eco International pageant.

"Bea is misunderstood by a lot of people. But the Bea we know is jolly and generous to her queen sisters.  Here's hoping you win the Miss Teen International crown! Good luck and don't mess it up," enthused mentor Mikee Andrei.

Last week, the ALV Pageant Circle organization also sent Miss World Philippines Tourism 2022 Justine Felizarta to the 31st Miss World Tourism competition in Vietnam. The final show of the said pageant happens on Dec. 10th. The last time a Filipina won the said title was in 2002 when Michelle Reyes surprised everyone in Ankara, Turkey.

The Philippines has previously won the Miss Eco Teen International title in 2020 with Roberta Angela Tamondong.

RoAn is currently enjoying her tour of duty as Miss Grand International 2022's Top 10 appointee. The Bangkok-based title is the newest acquisition of the ALV Pageant Circle  organization. They will be sending their first representative to the 11th Miss Grand International in Vietnam next year.

The 2022 Miss Eco Teen International pre-pageant activities will run from December 4 - 10, with the coronation night scheduled on December 11 (December 12, Manila time) from Egypt. Last year's Philippine representative, Tatyana Austria, finished as 1st runner-up. Stay tuned!
