Grand Westside Hotel
New Megaworld property welcomes the world with open arms
By Demi Braque
A month after opening its doors to commerce, the Grand Westside Hotel (GWH) invites guests from all over the world to experience Filipino hospitality in its 4-star facilities.
"We are strategically located in wherever our properties are present - whether it be in Metro Manila, Tagaytay, Boracay, Iloilo, or Westside City. We have the platform and inventory. What we are doing is nation building!" declared group general manager Arturo Boncato Jr.
As the biggest MICE venue in the country, with 1530 rooms when completed, GWH underscores its contribution to the Philippines' burgeoning tourism sector; with its readiness and foresight.
The 19-storey, two-tower edifice is the latest addition to the Westside City Township in Parañaque's sprawling Entertainment City. Tower One has 600 rooms in seven categories, excluding two presidential suites at the topmost floors. Pool areas are on the third level, together with the open areas that could be set up for entertainment functions.
GWH enriches every guest's journey through heartfelt Filipino hospitality. Currently, it's offering early birds with a "Sneak Peek" blitz for only P 5,500 net, with breakfast for two, plus a 20% off from all its F&B outlets til Sept 30, 2024.
"We've crossed the recovery period for both the tourism and business sectors. When there's competition, we will benefit as well. Megaworld hotel brands are practical and ergonomic, with the Live & Play concepts observed in our townships. We are learning about evolving guests, as well as with traditional and online travels," intoned NCR cluster general manager Jun Justo.
To date, Megaworld has 32 townships all over the Philippines. Grand Westside Hotel is their second hotel in Westside City, with Kingsford being the first. GWH is Megaworld's 13th property; bringing its total room inventory to 8,500 keys! Not a small feat for a 100% home-grown brand.
"It will be the 25th anniversary of our very first hotel - Richmonde Ortigas - very soon. We've uplifted lives and impacted communities. We've opened hotels in the midst of the pandemic. Our MICE preparedness is a trailblazer! And at the heart of our brand is the Sampaguita Project where our guests will experience our hospitality with all their senses," managing director Cleofe Albiso intimated, during a midday event colloquy.
"To drumbeat our nationalistic stance, through our Sampaguita Project, we've made our national flower part of our cuisine. And in scheduled times throughout the day, you get to hear piped-in original Filipino music, as well as sniff the sampaguita oil in your rooms or whenever you opt to have a massage in our spa. We've prepared a feast for your senses, and we want to be remembered for that," she continued.
The Megaworld's hotel portfolio includes such homegrown brands as Richmonde, Belmont, Savoy, Kingsford, Lucky Chinatown, and Twin Lakes. Its umbrella group include such labels as TravelLife International, Emperador, InfraCorp, McDonald's, and A.G. to name a few.
"We take care of our guests' needs. We treat them as family. The timeliness for the completion of Tower Two is towards the end of 2024. Sustainability is key in our Sampaguita and Circle of Happiness projects. We are deliberate in taking care of both our personnel and guests. We want to be remembered as a hotel group where we show what a Filipino brand can offer - beyond words," enthused GWH general manager Joe Fijardo.
