Bally Eyewear

Perfect pair for sun & glare
By Nico Erle Ciriaco

The punctuation of a brogue, the soft touch of a bag’s leather, the classic silhouette of a sartorial jacket, and the elegant contour of a heel all speak of Bally’s passion for perfection as a label. The same passion is brought to the 21st century technology with its functional, yet fashionable, frame for the eyes.
In collaboration with the international eyewear group TWC L’AMY, Bally presented recently its Spring/Summer 2014 Eyewear Collection for men and women at their outlet store in Greenbelt 5 mall. TWC L’AMY, a leading group of fashion accessories with worldwide presence, designs and distributes eyewear, watches, jewelry, and leather goods of various brands under license or directly owned. The group has licensing agreements with various prestigious brands including Cerruti 1881, Balmain, Kenzo, Nina Ricci, Thierry Mugler and Bally.
Divided into lines of business, formal, casual, and sport, the new wider range of models captures the essence of the Swiss brand’s world-renowned attention to detail and trademark design. Acetate and metal frames, crafted from the finest materials including titanium and carbon fiber have been precisely engineered to offer the most comfortable and elegant fit. The variety of shapes are customized with high-quality polarized lenses and come in a range of colors including dark wood, flannel, toffee, racing red, tortoiseshell, and charcoal black. Select styles feature intricate highlights in fine leather celebrating Bally’s status as the leading architect of leather.
“This event heralds Bally Eyewear’s arrival in the Philippines. Bally, as a company, has over 150 years of leather tradition. As an accessory company, we extend our portfolio to eyewear for men and women. All the things that people love about the brand, even the very DNA of Bally design, are infused into the eyewear collection.
“We now focus on Asian markets featuring the same designs but with different fittings; with more line and angle. These eyepieces are custom-built and have gone through individual inspection. The brand moves its inventory twice a year: Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. For the latter collection, we have 25 designs for men and 24 designs for women. These move in the the colors of black, brown, tortoise and reds,” shared Arnaud Dubord, Bally’s general manager for Asia-Pacific during a post-ceremony colloquy.
Some of the new features for this season’s style for men directly echo the Bally Scribe collection, featuring laminated beige inner to the frame temple inspired by the traditional lining and soles of the iconic shoes. Men’s models range from contemporary thin, rectangular frames to more vintage shapes such as the aviator.
For select women’s styles, Bally’s expertise in leather craftsmanship is highlighted through the use of perforated leather on the temple; mirroring the timeless elegance of the brand’s accessories collection. Women’s models feature oversized shapes including square or rounded butterfly frames and the cat-eye.
Causal and sports lines have been designed for a more relaxed and versatile wear. Sunglasses and eyeglasses for everyday use are in a variety of shapes including round, rectangular, and sport-inspired; all developed in acetate or stainless steel that is renowned for its super lightweight strength and functionality.
Since 1851, the principles of innovation, functionality and elegance have symbolized the enduring pioneer spirit of founder Carl Franz Bally; an ethos that continues to imbue this unique Swiss brand with its visionary commitment to cutting edge technologies and world-class craftsmanship. Over 160 years after Bally was founded, leather remains its medium and inspiration; a fine natural material that serves both functionality and creativity.

In 1976, Bally has extended its shoe collections to include handbags, leather accessories, and outstanding pret-a-porter pieces; with each product a testament to the brand’s passion for perfection. As part of the LABELUX Group, a leading player in the international luxury market, Bally is one of the world’s most enduring and unique luxury shoe and leather brands.
