Best Dancer

Binibinis strut their stuff at Adlib Dance Studio

By Earl D.C. Bracamonte

After the final screening to determine this year's official candidates lineup, mediamen had an up-close first encounter with this year's Top 36 as they embarked on a dance workshop and heels training at the Adlib Dance Studio on the upper wing of the New Frontier Theater.

Miss Joe Abuda, Adlib's managing director together with her dance crew, supervised the dance workshop. After learning the choreography to the dance routine, the girls were grouped in sevens. From there, four girls were chosen to do a showdown.

Jercy Raine Cruz (Makati), Francesca Beatriz Abalajon (Aklan Province), Cyril Reign Nulud (San Fernando, Pampanga), and Pretty Shayne R. Arnejo (San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur) did their moves on the dancefloor. After two rounds, Binibini Aklan Province and Binibini San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur battled it out for supremacy.

Pretty Shane was finally named the Best Dancer from the batch and was awarded a prize package from Adlib Dance Studio and the BBP team.

Next week, the Binibinis will be formally presented to the members of the media. As of presstime, the grand coronation night is planned sometime in mid-June. Stay tuned!
