 Krishnah Gravidez departs for 72nd Miss World finals

Miss World Philippines 2024 Krishnah Marie Gravidez has left Manila today, May 6, en route to Telangana, India - the site of the forthcoming 72nd Miss World final show.

"It's the same feeling I'm having with Megan in 2013. I know Krishnah will bring home the 2nd crown for our country. We are all excited to bring the Blue Crown back to the Philippines again. She's really prepared. Krishnah has worked so hard for this journey that I'm positive she'll make it. She is the eepitomeof a Miss World queen. She's got what the Miss World Organization is looking for in a winner. No pressure, just do your best!" enthused MWP national director Arnold L. Vegafria.

In a media send-off at the Savoy Hotel - directly opposite NAIA 3 airport where she boarded her flight - family, friends, and supporters gave their well-wishes to the beauteous Baguio maiden.

"I feel the love is too strong that I can't stop shaking. I couldn't have done this without all your support. Thank you for fulfilling my dream! 

"Mama, thank you for loving me and showing me that through quiet courage we can achieve anything. We are here to walk with love, kindness, and purpose," intimated a teary-eyed Krishnah, who was clearly overwhelmed by the deluge of support she received. 

Her 'Beauty with a Purpose' project - Color the World with Kindness - is an act of 'paying forward' the random acts of kindness one receives from people around you.

"When I met Miss World 2013 Megan Young a few months after winning the national title, I asked her about the challenges in detail. I even listed down my questions so I won't forget anything. 

"She said not to be afraid to be myself and to show people who I am because people tend to box us into something we are not," she continued.

Krishnah's mom, Jel Perez, traveled from Baguio City to be part of the send-off. "Even before I gave birth to Krishnah, I was, and still am, a fan of pageants. When she was born, the midwife told me that my daughter will be a queen because it looked like she wore wore a crown from her little clump of hair."

Miss Elite Philippines 2025 Sophia Bianca Santos, who will be the last of the MWP queens to compete in Egypt in September, told Krishnah that, "Your kind heart will touch the world. We love you and the world loves you too!" said the Kapampangan beauty.

Some of the Filipino fashion designers who have lend a hand to Krishnah included Rian Fernandez, Mark Bumgarner, Oshi Sato, Francis Libiran, and Simeon Cayetano, as well as a few designers from Thailand and Vietnam.

"I've never met anyone so true to herself. You're the kindest person I've ever met. I wish you the best of luck and enjoy the journey," said Reina Hispanoamericana 2023 2nd runner-up Michelle Arceo.

The 2025 Miss World coronation night will unfold on May 31 in Telangana, India. The Philippines won its first Miss World crown/title in 2013 with Megan Young. A lot of pageant aficionados from here and abroad feel that the Philippines will win its second Blue crown this year.
