 Celebrating the BSP legacy

By Nico Erle Ciriaco

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), in partnership with the Philippine Amusement & Entertainment Corp. (PAEC), formally opened the offsite museum, World of Scouting: Heritage and Adventure Camp, through a presser at the Ayala Malls Circuit Makati.

“We are in the process of rewriting our history, including that of the Boy Scouts. Let’ s give our children the chance for moral regeneration together with the skills that build character; as well as things that make us appreciate values in the age of AI and social media,” intoned Education secretary, Hon. Sonny Angara, who was the event’s guest speaker.

The visitor journey begins with the origins of the global scouting movement; tracing its evolution from the vision of Lord Robert Baden-Powell to the remarkable story of scouting in the Philippines.

The museum tour will take one to historic galleries, authentic memorabilia, interactive exhibits, adventure zones, as well as a hands-on learning experience.

“The museum is a living time machine. It is a modern offsite museum in the bustling city of Makati. Tour operators can easily bring the students for life skills training. It is a physical manifestation of Philippine scouting.

“By preserving our priceless heritge today, we are fuelling the fire that will light the trail for the next hundred years of exceptional Filipino leadership. It is a monument to legacy – turning mall space to adventure camp where scouts earn badges in real time,” enthused eagle scout Atty. Emilio Aquino, current national president of the BSP movement.

The World of Scouting Museum: Heritage & Adventure Camp is conveniently located at the upper ground floor of Ayala Malls Circuit Makati.
