Crowns of purpose
New set of Model Moms crowned
By Earl D.C. Bracamonte
Best Magazine crowned its new set of Model Mom (MM) advocacy
queens at the Viva Café in Quezon City, in time for the beginning of the fiscal year.
While the crowns are usually appointed, they assumed existing
pageant titles. They were crowned by Miss World ’73 1st runner up
Evangeline Pacual and actor Sheryl Cruz, together with magazine publisher R.
Ferdinand Hiñola.
The new set of advocacy queens are:
-
Ariana Saunders (MM World)
-
Jane Jarencio (MM Grand)
-
Janette Fernando (MM Supranational)
-
Jennylyn Flores (MM Tourism)
-
Jury Joani (MM Globe)
-
Katrina Paula (MM Cosmopolitan)
-
Princess Ryan (MM Earth), and
-
Charina Carmen Josol (Universe)
“When my sister, Peachy, passed on in 2011, I channelled my
pain into purpose. I continued our community outreach with kids in hospitals
(bringing them toys), feeding programs, as well as organized medical missions.
Our simple outreach benefited more or less 300 families a year!
“In 2023, I created the Circle of Hope & Care Foundation
to empower the youth and young girls in leadership skills that we attained with
workshops and fora with various LGUs.
“Beyond this new crown, this title means using one’s voice,
platform, and influence to serve and uplift others,” shared Charina, who was
actually the grand winner of last year’s Mrs. Universe Grand Global Ambassador
International pageant in Mslaysia.
Charina hails from Puerto Princesa and is married to Gene
Josol, where their union is blessed with a talented 11-year-old son, Gerard.
Televiewers will always identify mother and son from the
Hansel biscuit commercial they both appeared in.
The Model Mom advocacy queens will be actively involved with
Best Magazine’s pipeline outreach projects in Cavite, Malay (Aklan), Bogo
(Cebu), Dapitan and Sicayab (Zamboanga del Norte.
