Philippines wins 2nd Eco International crown

Miss Eco Philippines 2021 Kathleen Paton was adjudged Miss Eco International 2022 at the close of glitzy rites in Luxor, Egypt. She is the second Filipina to win the crown, after Cynthia Thomalla's victory in 2018. Kath was crowned by outgoing queen Gizzele Uys of South Africa and MEI founder Dr. Amaal Rezk.

Kath was also adjudged Best Eco Video earlier in the pageant when the Top 21 semifinalists were announced. Her court is comprised of Chloe Reweghs (Belgium, 1st runner-up), Jessy Peralta (USA, 2nd runner-up), Lucia Morales (Spain , 3rd runner-up), and Prasana Shri (Malaysia, 4th runner-up and Best in Eco Dress).

The five other candidates who advanced to the Top 10 were Costa Rica, Mexico, Nigeria, Netherlands, and Egypt, who was adjudged Best in National Costume.

The other lucky candidates who made the first cut into the semifinals (Top 21) were Panama, Myanmar, Finland, South Africa, Brazil, Venezuela, Indonesia, Nepal, Montenegro, Aruba, and Canada, who was named Miss Eco North America.

The other continental beauties were Kenya (Miss Eco Africa), Paraguay (Miss Latin America), Portugal (Miss Eco Europe), and Vietnam (Miss Eco Asia).

Now on its 8th year, the Miss Eco International is a platform that espouses making a cleaner environment for all. It is one of the platforms working with the United Nations for a much cleaner earth.

The Miss Eco International 2022 unfolded in the King's Island of Luxor and was beamed live to a global audience through the MEI YouTube channel.
