Innervoices celebrates 34th year anniversary
By Earl D.C. Bracamonte
Pop rock band Innervoices successfully celebrated its 34th year in the music industry with a jam-packed midweek show at the 19 East Bar & Grill in Muntinlupa City.
A prelude to its forthcoming album, "Handa Na," the band is reformatting its sound and songs for a new generation. With a new lineup of songs and a new lead vocalist, Patrick Marcelino, Innervoices is enjoying a rebirth; as evidenced by the deluge of positive feedback from audiences who have witnessed their gigs of late.
The midweek show featured some of their new songs, including "Meant to Be" that was penned by band manager and keyboardist Atty. Rey Bergado. "We are beyond overwhelmed. It's raining but we're all here," said Atty. Bergado.
Easterlies and a tropical depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) brought a sudden drizzle to Metro Manila.
The night's repertoire also included classics from Lionel Richie, REM, Earth Wind & Fire, Kenny Loggins, as well as OPM staples from Gino Padilla, Eraserheads, Apo Hiking Society, and Rivermaya to name a few.
But it was the group's medley of rock legend Queen (Radio Ga-ga, We are the Champions, We Will Rock You, and Bohemian Rhapsody) that brought the house down. Rising band 25 Abbey opened the midweek anniversary show.
All the cuts of its soon-to-be released album are available in all digital platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
