Ronald Marapon dela Rosa has seamlessly trekked the avenues of law enforcement to the halls of the Upper House.
He served as Philippine National Police chief before transitioning to a director-general post with the Bureau of Corrections, until he ran and won a senatorial seat in the House of Representatives.
Senator Bato, as he is fondly called by colleagues and peers, was the Davao City chief of police when then-mayor Rodrigo Duterte was the local chief executive. He is a proud alumnus of the Mindanao State University, the University of Southern Philippines, and the Philippine Military Academy (Class of 1986), where he was known by his nickname 'Duroy.'
He is married to Nancy Comandante and their union is blessed with three children. Senator Bato's net worth in Dec 2019 stood at Php 33-million.
In his biopic, produced by ALV Films and BENCHingko Films, and distributed by Regal Films, Sen. Bato was played by action superstar Robin Padilla.
