Huawei, the leading global information and communications technology solutions provider, formally announced the availability, nationwide, of a smart living companion device for work, play and even sleep. The Talkand B2 is the stylish, next-generation wearable device that brings together the convenience of a Bluetooth earpiece and the functionality of a fitnes tracker in one elegant design.
Created with fashion in mind by the Huawei Aesthetics Center in Paris, the wearable sports a more premium design that focuses on comfort, style and everyday elegance. “With its intuitive touch-and-swipe UI, the TalkBand B2 keeps you informed and updated wherever you are and whatever you're doing, with on-screen notifications, reminders, alarms, tracking, and monitoring to keep you in touch with all the important things in life,” said consumer business group country head Charles Wu.
The TalkBand B2 sports a 0.73-inch, 128 x 88-pixel mono PMOLED touchscreen. All you have to do is sweep your finger to cycle through the various settings like time/date, steps taken, sleep time, calories burned and running/cycling time.
Whether you are driving, working on the computer, or just playing around with the kids, the TalkBand B2 frees up your hands so you can keep them on the steering wheel, take down important notes immediately, as well as continue conversations comfortably. It vibrates to notify you of an incoming call and shows name and number of the caller. All you have to do is detach the earpiece to answer the call, if your phone unit is inside a bag or far from you.
“As more Filipinos become health-conscious, so grows the market for wearable technology and Huawei is at the forefront by providing consumers with products that combine style and functionality with the latest technology breakthrough.
“Wearables as a brand serve specific groups of consumers so it's not competition. Every brand contributes to this ecosystem. After sales center, collection points can fix Huawei devices or replace them. You may also opt to replace the watch band. Upgrades will be provided on the software to solve existing bugs as well as on new additions,” Wu added.
Equipped with dual microphone, noise reduction technology and quality Bluetooth connectivity, it is also equipped with smart detection to understand whether the earpiece is on the wristband or not; allowing it to automatically push audio (music/call) to the smartphone or B2 bracelet. You can connect up to 2 smartphones so you don't have to choose which of your phones to pair it with.
With its superb battery performance, the TalkBand B2 can last up to five days, and support continuous call time up to six hours, with 12 days standby time without Bluetooth connectivity. It is likewise equipped with a pager to search and locate your smartphone, regardless of the phone model, through vibration or ring tone alerts.
Built with an innovative 6-axis motion sensor, it can automatically detect different activities with higher accuracy, such as walking, running, cycling, climbing and/or hiking. It can also calculate the amount of calories burned by the different activities so as to help you plan your workouts, diet, and other health-related regimen. “The device's features will help your running and/or cycling progress. If you're into walking, seven thousand steps will maintain your weight. If you want to lose weight, go from ten to fifteen thousand steps a day,” apprized lifestyle and fitness coach Mitch Felipe-Mendoza.
“Technology has taken fitness coaching to a whole new level,” concurred co-fitness coach Arman Mendoza.
The same sensor will also automatically identify and record motions accurately, detect the duration of light/deep sleep, and provide consumers with health tips on ways to improve their slumber patterns.
“Stop wishing and start doing. The most difficult part in any journey is taking the first step. The TalkBand 2 sees things right. It will be your numerical basis for losing weight. The device went into an app marriage with FitnessPal and UP by Jawbone. The former app checks your calorie balance to ensure that you're on track with your fitness goals while the latter directly reports your goals, activity, and sleep patterns to your fitness social network. Furthermore, it will only work with one-on-one pairing via Bluetooth and with a maximum of two of your devices,” enthused category brand head Nino Carandang.
Available in all Huawei brand shops all over the Philippines, the TalkBand B2 sports edition come in black and white (P6990) while the executive edition comes in gold (P7990). It works on the operating systems of any Android 4.0+ unit as well as on any IOS 7.0+ device.
