 Innervoices shares new single

By Nico Erle Ciriaco

Pop rock band Innervoices' forthcoming album is fast taking shape. With the remaining cuts in fine tuning stage, it's only a matter of time when the complete compilation will be available commercially.

During a recent shindig at the Aromata Bar in Quezon City, the band performed its latest single, "Shadows," before having it broadcast on digital platforms. Lead vocalist Pat Marcelino crooned the slow rock ditty to the glee of the audience present during their weekend gig.

The band also performed two of their other original songs: "I'll Wait for You in the Rain" and "Handa na Kitang Mahalin."

But what's an Innervoices show without the dancing?

'80s and New Wave anthems got everybody on their feet. Some of the upbeat tunes added to their expansive repertoire were "State of the Nation" (lndustry), "I Promise" (When In Rome), "Broken Wings" (Mr. Mister), "Wishful Thinking (China Crisis), "Wake Me Up Before You Go" (Wham), and "Shut Up and Dance With Me" (Walk in the Moon), among its well-loved covers.

And for a bit of modern vibe, Pat belted JK Labajo's "Buwan", a few Eraserheads hits, and a rousing Queen medley that broke the house down.

Catch Innervoices other shows at 19 East in Muntinlupa, Hard Rock Manila (Makati) and Noctos Bar in Quezon City.
